Summertime on the Move

July 2005 - Here we are in the middle of summer and not much should be going on in the auto business and the television business. Well, NOT. Heck, we are way too busy right now and as I look out the window of my office here in Acton, Massachusetts I see lots of cars going by with tops down and sunroofs open. Of course, lots of bikes, too, from hogs to numerous whiney rice burners. We happen to have a motorcycle café up the street and this time of the year the parking lot is packed with leather clad two wheeled road warriors out risking their necks up against 18 wheeled beasts of burden... all while I am sitting here writing.

But, I am not complaining mind you! Top 200, the first ever new vehicle test drive video series to appear on VOD (video on demand) is forcing us to get behind the wheels and into "the Driver's Seat" of some pretty cool iron...

We've tested the Corvette C6, the Mini Cabriolet, the new Bentley Arnage, the Ferrari F430 and oh, maybe FIFTY other cool machines. So, not being at the beach isn't all that bad.

We do have some interesting news to report, too. You've heard about the Top 200... I've been blabbing about it for months now. Well, two things: First, it is finally up and visible on Comcast on Demand. We have the first 15 or so new vehicle profiles sitting there ready to be viewed at any time. If you have Comcast digital, you have WheelsTV's Top 200, right in the Sports and Leisure section of your VOD channel... and eventually there really WILL be 200 new cars to check out!

The other very cool news is that WheelsTV has just joined forces with Vehix.com, the leading new vehicle locater on the web. In a few months, when you are looking for a new car you'll be able to go to Vehix.com and watch brief Top 200 profiles of the cars you are considering and then just click on the one you want and Vehix will tell you who has that millennium yellow Corvette you've always wanted.

I've been touting Top 200 as the next step in the car shopping experience. Well, now it really is! You'll be seeing Vehix's and WheelsTV's TV spots popping up soon so keep an eye out for them!

One last thing, since you've been kind enough to read this letter, I'd like to give you an official WheelsTV silver bullet key ring flashlight. These babies are great anytime you need a little light on the subject. Just write to us at WheelsTV.net, tell us what you'd like to see on the network, give us your address and we'll send you a WheelsTV silver bullet light!

That's all for now. Let's see, I think I'll take that new BMW M5 for a test drive... right to the beach!!

Thanks and please drive safely,

Jim Barisano
