The 2024 Acura TLX arrives with several notable updates and refinements, aimed at enhancing its appeal as a premium compact sports sedan.

2024 Acura TLX

Changes are subtle for the 2024 Acura TLX, the new model features a more sophisticated front fascia, characterized by a frameless version of Acura’s Diamond Pentagon Grille, first seen on the Acura Type S Concept. Additionally, two new paint colors, Urban Gray Pearl and Liquid Carbon Metallic, add to the vehicle’s exterior appeal.

Exterior:

The TLX’s athletic presence is underscored by its rigid platform, diamond pentagon grille, and slender LED headlights. The Type S variant stands out with an aero-optimized rear spoiler and a rear diffuser flanked by quad-exhaust tips, adding to its sporty aesthetic. The A-Spec model also gets a sportier appearance with split-spoke 19-inch wheels in Shark Gray, large dual round exhaust finishers, and a gloss black rear spoiler.

Interior:

The cabin of the TLX is designed with a modern, dual-cockpit layout that provides premium seating for five passengers. The use of Milano leather-trimmed seats and Authentic Open-Pore Wood Trim in the Advanced package enhances the luxurious feel. For 2024, the TLX also features a new configurable 12.3-inch Acura Precision Cockpit Digital Instrument Cluster and a 12.3-inch center screen, both powered by a faster processor. Standard technology includes wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatibility, Amazon Alexa Built-In, and two rear USB-C charging ports.

Technology:

The TLX’s standard 10.2-inch Dual-content center display includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. The system can be upgraded with the Acura Navigation System with 3D View. The Type S model benefits from additional tech features, including a 10.5-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) and Surround View Camera.

Performance:

Powering the base TLX is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, delivering 272 horsepower to the front wheels, or to all wheels via the available Acura Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Type S variant features a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, producing 355 horsepower, and comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission with downshift Rev-Matching and SH-AWD. Notably, the Type S also boasts a Brembo performance braking system and high-performance summer tires.

Safety:

The 2024 TLX comes equipped with the AcuraWatch suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies. This includes Collision Mitigation Braking with Advanced Pedestrian Detection, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Keeping Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow. For 2024, enhancements include a wider field of view for both the front camera and grille-mounted radar, an improved blind spot information system with increased radar warning range, and a new rear seatbelt reminder system.

Warranties:

Acura backs the TLX with a 4-year, 50,000-mile limited warranty and a 6-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty. New for 2024, the Acura Maintenance Package offers complimentary maintenance for the first two years or 24,000 miles, adding to the vehicle’s overall value and appeal.

The 2024 Acura TLX continues to deliver a balanced blend of performance, luxury, and advanced technology. With its refreshed design, enhanced interior features, and robust safety systems, it remains a strong contender in the premium compact sports sedan segment. The introduction of the 2025 WRX TS may challenge its position as the best performance value in the lineup, but the TLX’s comprehensive package of style, efficiency, and engaging driving dynamics ensures it will continue to attract enthusiasts and everyday drivers alike.
