The Kia EV9 is the Family-Friendly All-Electric SUV you've been waiting for!
Before the Kia EV9 made its debut for the 2024 model year, anyone who wanted to buy a 3-row all-electric vehicle was pretty much limited to the Tesla Model Y and a handful of $100k-plus luxury vehicles like the groundbreaking Tesla Model X and the excellent but pricey Rivian R1S.
The Kia EV9 boasts a modern and bold design with a boxy silhouette, giving it a robust presence on the road. The exterior features include a unique front fascia with the signature Kia tiger nose grille and aerodynamic elements that enhance its efficiency and style.
All trims include standard LED daytime running lights and LED positioning lights. Lower trims come with LED projection headlights, while the Land and GT-Line trims feature small cube LED headlights. At the rear, the LED lighting scheme continues with LED rear combination lights and a rear spoiler with an LED high-mount stoplight.
The GT-Line trims also come with unique front and rear skid plates and gunmetal-painted exterior trim.
Inside, the spacious interior of the EV9 is designed to be a sanctuary-like space, using premium, animal-product-free, and partially recycled materials.
The base EV9 Light trim includes seating for 7. All other trims feature seating for 6 with 2nd-row captain’s chairs. If you want to get fancy, upper trims can be ordered with 2nd-row VIP Relaxation seats. The captain’s seats fold forward for easy access to the third row.
With the rear seats folded, cargo space reaches up to 81.9 cubic feet, and a front trunk provides additional hidden storage.
The EV9 is equipped with dual 12.3-inch displays, creating a seamless panoramic display that features the ultramodern Connected Car Navigation Cockpit operating system.
It also offers Vehicle-to-Load functionality, allowing the EV9 to be used as a mobile power source, this is quite handy if you want to power a campsite, but also around the house if you need to plug in something outside.
The EV9’s power comes from a 215-horsepower electric motor paired with a 76.1-kilowatt-hour battery, with an optional long-range 99.8-kilowatt-hour battery. An available torque-vectoring, dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain produces a system net of 379 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of instant torque.
The long-range rear-wheel-drive delivers 304 miles of range on a full charge. On the other end of the spectrum the standard range rear-wheel drive EV9 can go up 230 miles.
The EV9 can be charged from 10 to 80% in under 25 minutes using a 350 kW DC fast charger.
