2025 RAM 1500 Rebel | Refreshed, Rugged & Ready
This week the wheelsTV staff are driving the all-new Ram 1500 Rebel.
Stellantis brands like Dodge and Ram have a knack for transforming a single model into a wide array of compelling variants, and the Ram 1500 is no exception. With 10 different trims available for 2025, there truly is a Ram for every purpose. Need something basic? The Tradesman has you covered. Looking for sporty? The Warlock fits the bill. Prefer luxury? The Ram lineup boasts no shortage of high-end, feature-rich options to choose from.
When it comes to offroading, the recently deceased Ram TRX, and upcoming Ram 1500 RHO may draw buyers into the showroom with their rowdy high-profile appeal, but it’s the off-road-oriented Rebel that’s more likely to be the one they drive home.
For 2025, all Ram 1500 models receive a refresh focused on sleek new front-end styling, highlighted by sharper headlights and an array of grille and wheel designs tailored to each trim. While not a dramatic overhaul, the updates successfully modernize the look of the 1500.
Beneath the skin, one major change is the retirement of the HEMI V8 in favor of a 420-horsepower, twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane in-line 6-cylinder, and a 540-horsepower 3.0-liter High Out variant.
Like all models in the lineup, the 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel features updated front-end styling. The grille adopts a more open mesh design, while the headlights have darkened inner reflectors, giving them a slimmer appearance and enhancing the Rebel’s sporty, blacked-out aesthetic.
I wouldn’t say that the Rebel 1500 trim is as capable as the new Ram RHO, but the Rebel does include several features that give it genuine offroad props, including:
- All-Terrain 33-Inch Goodyear Wrangler
- DuraTrac OWL Tires
- Electronic locking rear differential
- Increased approach, departure and breakover angles
- Bilstein front and rear shocks
Skid Plates - 9.7 inches of ground clearance
The Rebel also includes the 3.0-liter Twin-Turbo I6 making 420-horsepower and 496 Pound-Feet of Torque.
Inside, the base Rebel 1500 offers a feature set comparable to other mid-range Ram 1500 models. However, for those seeking a touch of luxury, there’s always the option to customize by checking off a few upgrades.
Cloth and vinyl seats with heated front seats come standard but can be updated to leather-trimmed seats and rear heated seats.
The $2,795 Rebel Level 2 Equipment Group adds a wealth of premium and tech features (listed below) and is certainly worth the added cost.
- 14.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen
- Passenger Interactive Display
- Power-folding mirrors painted black with signal and puddle lamps
- Power-adjustable pedals
- Dual wireless charging pad (available with bucket seats only)
- Power open/close tailgate

Another new feature for the Ram 1500 Rebel is the Rebel X Package celebrating 10 years of the Rebel trim.
